The Faces of the Movement

The people who make every game, every season, and every smile possible.

William Dumais

President and Coach

Co-founder of Attraction22

For William, sports were never just another activity to fit into his schedule.

They’ve always been part of how he lives.

In nearly 20 years as a phys. ed. teacher, Will has seen hundreds of kids come through his gyms.

Natural athletes. Hesitant kids. Competitive ones. Beginners. And above all, kids who simply needed to find the right way to have fun being active.

Because before technique, systems and results, there’s something far more important:

making kids want to play.

And Will is probably the best example of that philosophy.

Hockey, baseball, mountain biking, volleyball or simply a new challenge to try: what interests him isn’t just the sport itself, but everything it can create around it.

A team.
A challenge.
Lessons learned.
Memories.

That hands-on experience is what he brings to Attraction22 today.

Creating activities where kids learn without feeling like they’re in school. Where adults can rediscover the joy of playing. And where everyone is pushed just enough to want to come back the next week.

Because after all these years of getting kids moving, one thing remains true:

the best sport isn’t necessarily the one you’re best at.

It’s the one that makes you want to keep playing.

Maxime Lamothe

Director and Coach

Co-founder of Attraction22

For a long time, sports were simply part of my life.

I grew up playing. I experienced competition, AA college volleyball as a setter at FX-Garneau, the practices, the games and, above all, that hard-to-describe feeling you get when you’re part of a team.

Then, like for a lot of people, life went on.

A career at Desjardins. Work. A family. Kids. Responsibilities.

But the urge to play never really went away.

Over the years, I started to notice something: the chances to play a sport become fewer and fewer once you step outside traditional structures.

You have to find a league. The right level. An open spot. A gym. People to organize it.

And with kids, I also saw all the ones who wanted to play without necessarily making their school team or being among the best.

That’s when an idea started to take up more and more space.

What if we simply created more opportunities to play?

A league. A tournament. An activity at a school. A new sport to try. A reason to get together with your crew on a Tuesday night.

That idea became Attraction22.

Today, what drives me isn’t building an organization reserved for the best athletes.

It’s creating experiences engaging enough that a child, a parent, a former player or someone who has never really played sports would want to join in.

Because deep down, I’m convinced of one thing:

You’re never too old, not good enough or too busy to still want to play.

Jordan Blackburn

Coach and Coordinator

Coordinator & Coach

Jordan is from Lac-Saint-Jean, with everything that implies: team spirit, competition and the joy of coming together around sports.

For him, sports have always been more than an activity.

They’re a way to express yourself.

In hockey, for example, Jordan has incredible hands. Where some people talk, draw or play music, he can pick up a puck and create something on the ice.

It’s that same freedom he loves to see in kids today.

Now a phys. ed. teacher, he loves watching them discover how they can express themselves. Some will love competition. Others, the feeling of belonging to a team. Some will discover a skill they didn’t even know they had.

And sometimes, all it takes is one sport, one coach or one group for a young person to find their place.

Jordan has been part of Attraction22 from the start, as a coach and coordinator. He brings competitive energy, a love of the game and, above all, the belief that sports let everyone show a part of who they are.

Because in the end, playing is also a way of showing who you are.
